MIDWEST SAILING'S MISSION

MEET OUR CREW - HAL WOOD

 Our founder, Hal Wood, has almost 40 years of sailing and racing experience in a variety of boats.  He has competed in several national one-design regattas, including one at the U. S. Sailing Hall of Fame in Annapolis, MD.  

Hal began teaching sailing in 2000, and became certified as a U.S. Sailing Instructor in 2004. In that time, he has

Since 2000, owner Hal Wood has trained over 700 people how to sail.  In 2004, he became a Certified Instructor for U.S. Sailing and has attended two of their National Symposiums.  Much of this work has been in cooperation with the Jacomo Sailing Club of Kansas City, MO while serving as their Training Coordinator. Midwest Sailing does not 

Since 2000, owner Hal Wood has trained over 700 people how to sail.  In 2004, he became a Certified Instructor for U.S. Sailing and has attended two of their National Symposiums.  Much of this work has been in cooperation with the Jacomo Sailing Club of Kansas City, MO while serving as their Training Coordinator. Midwest Sailing does not conduct group classes, but prefers to customize the training to the needs of the student in private lessons.  The content for most students is evenly split between classroom and practice time on the water, usually three to four hours each.
